Clitheroe win December Club of the Month Award for the Evostik League Division One North

Stourbridge, Clitheroe and Spalding United are looking forward to collecting the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's first performance awards of 2017!

Named on Wednesday as the latest winners EVO-STIK NPL Club of the Month awards - sponsored once again by title sponsors EVO-STIK and parent company Bostik UK to recognise and reward the top performers in league and cup competitions - the clubs will be presented with inscribed certificates to record their achievements and a bottle of spirits to toast their success at upcoming fixtures in January.

After making history by booking a trip to Wycombe Wanderers in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday with 1-0 win over League Two Northampton Town before Chritsmas, Gary Hackett's Glassboys were always red-hot favourites to collect successive accolades in the top flight after winning November's laurels for their earlier cup exploits. Stourbridge's unbeaten league form of a win and two draws also helped them pip nearest rivals Grantham Town to the Premier Division's award.

Clitheroe and Spalding United are both preparing for their first presentations of the season after emerging as the form teams in their respective divisions in the final month of 2016.

In EVO-STIK NPL First Division North, Simon Haworth and his Blues posted a record of four wins and a draw as they went through December unbeaten in five league outings, outstripping nearest rivals Ossett Town and Trafford on their points per game average to climb to seventh in the table and enter the play-off race in earnest.

Spalding United were also unbeaten in December, Dave Frecklington's Tulips winning all four of their league outings to top the EVO-STIK NPL First Division South table heading into 2017 and beat fellow contenders AFC Rushden & Diamonds to the division's accolade.
