The big man is glad to be back

Clitheroe is the only place I've played at that feels like home
- Sefton Gonzales

Simon Haworth has this evening confirmed that Sefton Gonzales has re-signed for the Blues!

Seftonjoins his third spell at Shawbridge and he's glad to be back!

"Clitheroe is the only place I've played at that feels like home. It's the only club I've been happy at since my last game for them, and I've always kept an eye on how the club has been doing. They had a really good season with a whole new team and management last year.

I'm really looking forward to working with Simon Haworth and the management team, especially with Simon being a striker at the highest level I will learn more and improve further. I can't wait to see what the club can do this year! I'm also looking forward to seeing all the Clitheroe fans again!"

The big-presence striker has scored 41 goals in his 80 previous appearance for Clitheroe, and impressive ratio of one every two games, and Simon thinks he'll easily add to that tally.

"I'm delighted that we have completed the signing of Sefton. I believe he will be the physical presence we missed up top last year.

I have no interest in what has gone before, all I know is that I'm excited at working with Sefton and making him the best player he can possibly be, not just this season but for his whole career so he can really fulfil his potential.

Having spoken to Sefton he had a real desire and hunger to come back to Shawbridge and help us kick on again this season. He's also excited at the prospect of developing as a player. We have signed a very very good forward who wants to become even better. He feels comfortable in the surroundings here and I'm confident we will get the best we have yet seen from him and I know he will settle into the group very well."

The Blues next game is away on Saturday at Squires Gate, then a newly arrange friendly has been arranged for the following Wednesday at home to a Morecambe development squad.
