Ossett Town come to Shawbridge this weekend

After a disappointing exit from the FA Trophy last weekend at the hands of Altrincham, Clitheroe return to Shawbridge this weekend back in league action against Ossett Town.

Our visitors come in to the game on the back of a good win away at Tadcaster Albion and have a good chance of pushing on the top end of the table with a win.

Clitheroe on the other hand lost 3-0 away to Altrincham last week but fought valiantly and will be in fine confidence on a return to Shawbridge.

It is not going to be an easy ask for the Blues however with Ossett Town unbeaten away from home and dropping just two points on their travels.

Clitheroe have conceded fourteen goals at home and Ossett Town may have scored just fifteen goals this season but eleven of those have come on the road.

Ross Dent is warmly welcomed back to Shawbridge for another league debut for the Blues after returning to the club in cup duty last Saturday.

There is two more new additions to the squad also with George West returning and Leighton Egan both coming in.

West has been at Atherton Collieries since he's last outing in a blue shirt, and Egan joins us on work experience from Burnley. The 17 year old attacking full-back joined Burnley from Manchester United aged 14.

The defender has been likened to former Claret Kieran Trippier, due to his exciting play going forward, and has an excellent delivery. He also played for the Youth Team in 2015/16 and continued his development the following season.

Both are registered in time to feature this weekend.

A win for Clitheroe could see them jump into a much more reasonable position up the table whilst Ossett Town can leap into the top six with another win.
