Appeal from Vice Chairman Anne Barker.
Even before Keith became ill the few of us who go down to the ground during the week to prepare the ground, keep up with maintenance, run the show on match days and clear up afterwards were struggling. As people have left or simply got older no one has come forward to help so we've just spread ourselves more and more thinly but now we have no options left and we are not physically capable of doing anymore - we would have to be able to cut ourselves in half! All of us would love to just watch the game, home or away, but clearly we can't.
Billy and I will make sure that the ground is ok for the Skem game but we both work and Billy has 2 dependant parents so he can't take it on a permanent basis. Please think about it and contact me if you can offer any help at all, even it only to put the divets back on a Sunday morning or form a team to help mowing the grass, or even to brew up on match days. If you're not able to offer any time yourself please don't do the usual trick and put forward other people's names and don't start coming up with postings on how we could do more.
If you have a good idea either tell me in person or carry it through yourself and come to me with a result. I don't need 'why don't you?s'. I can't fit anymore on my plate but am proud to continue with what I've taken on so far.
