Neil Reynolds
Returned to Shawbridge after a brief spell at
Bamber Bridge. Scored the winning goal at Nantwich that secured the 2003/04 North
West Counties Division 1 title and promotion to the UniBond League.
Peter Smith
Signed from Kendal where he spent seven years
including a successful 2 season spell as manager during which Kendal reached
their first final in 25 years. He's a very well known player round the
non-league circuit and he'll bring experience to the side as well as weighing
in with his fair share of goals.
James Mann
Goalkeeper signed from Leigh RMI in January
2007.
Paul Horridge
Vastly experienced goalkeeper who returned to
Shawbridge in October 2007 following a successful spell here in 2006.
Russell Clarke
Defender brought in from Rossendale United in
2007 where he spent the last season as skipper. Was a member of the Blues North
West Counties winning side and can play anywhere across the back.
Ian Flannery
Young defender signed from Squires Gate in
November 2007 and made a winning start in his home debut v FC United of
Manchester.
Jonathon Smith
Loan signing from Fleetwood Town in January
2008 and putting his experience and heading prowess to good use for the Blues.
John Osborne
Defender brought in in December 2006
from a brief spell at Chorley after previously being at Kendal Town.
Nigel Taylor
Experienced defender captured in the close
season from Kendal Town
Joel Byrom
Midfielder brought in from Accrington
Stanley in January 2007. Joel came through the ranks at Blackburn Rovers but
was released in summer 2006 and joined up with Accrington.
Dave Dempsey
Tricky winger brought in from Burscough. Came
up through their youth and reserve setup, member of the team that had a
memorable run to the 3rd Round Proper in the 2004/05 FA Youth Cup.
Ryan Fisher
Former Great Harwood Town midfielder brought
in from Radcliffe Borough in January 2007 and has already scored some vital
goals for the Blues.
Adam Kozlowski
Former Clitheroe Reserves player who
returned to Shawbridge in 2007 after a successful spell at Rossendale United.
Strong tackling midfielder who can also play at right back.
Dave Hankin
Midfielder signed from Squires Gate
Paul Osborne
Classy midfielder who joined in 2006 and can
also play at the back.
Craig Sargeson
Forward. Tipped for great things when he was
Rossendale’s top scorer in their North West Counties winning season while
still in his teens. A successful move to Witton Albion was brought to a halt
by a series of injuries and after a cautious start with the Blues he is now
oozing the class that could still see him take a step up.
Gary Stopforth
Early season signing who came to Clitheroe
following his release from Blackburn Rovers where he'd captained the reserve
side.
Will Exton
Young striker brought to Shawbridge after
being released by Bradford City. Still has plenty to learn but has notched a
few goals to show the potential is there. Has pace and aggression aplenty, and
when the goal radar works every game, he will surely progress
Sam Heap
Another young striker who has had games at
Colne. Plenty of enthusiasm and pace and eager to learn.
Mickey Saunders
Diminutive striker who initially came on loan
from Fleetwood Town in November 2007 but soon made the move permanent.
Previously with Bacup Borough and Ramsbottom he is a nippy and mobile player
who will cause problems and score his fair share of goals.
Gary Jackson
A young local lad who has progressed
through the Clitheroe Wolves and reserve team ranks. Hard to believe that Jackson
aka "Rooney" is now the longest standing member of the side. Set up
the second goal in the famous FA Vase QF win over Chippenham Town when still
in nappies and has improved every season. Last season his prodigious goal
scoring talent started to shine through before he suffered a cruel injury in
the 2005-06 season that left him on 13 goals from just 20 matches. He returns
for the 2007-08 season after more than a season out for recovery.
Danny Toronczak
Prolific striker signed February 2008 from
Mossley. He scored 143 goals in 235 games for Ossett Albion before moving to
Belper Town for the start of this season and then linking with Mossley in
November 2007.
Carl Lomax
Strong and skilful striker signed from
Salford City in January 2008 and already amongst the goals.
