The Blues could secure their fourth successive victory this Saturday as they host third placed Glossop North End.

Clitheroe are in excellent form going into this weekend's clash with Glossop North End, having beaten Ossett Town, New Mills and Scarborough Athletic in their last three fixtures.

The visitors on the other hand have been struggling for consistency of late despite their promising league position in the play-off places, winning just two of their last five matches.

Spennymoor Town and Ossett Albion are both closing in on Glossop, each sitting just two points behind them in the Evo-Stik First Division North, so the Hillmen will be eager to pick up all three points at Shawbridge.

A Clitheroe win however could take the hosts within a point of Ossett Albion, who currently occupy the final play-off place in the top five, so the Blues will be equally keen for victory.

Clitheroe's two main threats in recent weeks have been Sefton Gonzales and Ross Dent, who have managed an astounding total of 9 goals in their last three appearances between them. Dent was taken off after a hefty challenge last weekend at Scarborough, so whether or not he is fit for this clash remains to be seen, but if he does start then it will be vital for the visitors to keep tabs on the deadly duo if they are to come away from Shawbridge with a win.

Clitheroe meanwhile will need to pay close attention to Glossop's Jamie Rainford, who has netted 21 goals so far this season and Astley Mulholland who has scored three in his last three.

Plenty of goals seem rather likely too as Clitheroe have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last six whilst Glossop North End are without a clean sheet in five.

Saturday's hosts have also notched thirteen goals in their last three fixtures whilst the visitors have bagged eight.

So get down to Shawbridge this Saturday to back the Clitheroe lads as this one could be a goal fest!

Saturday is also the first match where we will be serving our new local ales, Hen Harrier and AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, produced by our new partners Bowland Brewery.
