Fit-again skipper back in the frame for Trafford trip

Captain Paul Dugdale is back for the Blues as they look to extend their unbeaten away record at Trafford on Saturday.

Summer signing Dugdale has missed the last three games with a head injury.

But the experienced campaigner is available for the trip to the Home Estates Shaw View Stadium to offer a valuable extra defensive option to boss Phil Brown.

Trafford are yet to pick up a point in the BetVictor North-West Division but have advanced in the FA Cup.

And Brown knows the Blues will have to perform to add to the four points they have picked up on the road so far.

“We’ve been reasonably happy with the start we’ve made,” said Brown, who saw his side lose for the first time in the league against local rivals Colne on Monday.

“Trafford’s position doesn’t reflect exactly how they’ve performed so far this season with all their defeats just by a single goal.

“But there wasn’t much in the game against Colne until they scored and we had to change things and we’re going to Trafford in good spirits.

“We’ll certainly be looking to get something from the game.”
