Frontman Jordan Darr makes it a hat-trick as new boss means business

Frontman Jordan Darr has made it a hat-trick of new signings for new-look Clitheroe.

Darr has agreed to join the Blues after leaving newly-promoted National League outfit Chorley.

The 20-year-old came through the Magpies’ youth set-up to earn a contract at Victory Park which expired last month.

And following successful loans spells last season with Bamber Bridge and Northwich Victoria - following an earlier stint with Skelmersdale United - the highly-rated forward becomes the third summer signing for new Blues boss Phil Brown.

Darr’s arrival at Shawbridge follows the capture of wideman Conor Gaul and midfielder Charlie Russell with Brown building a squad capable of making an impact in the Evo-Stik West Division.

“Jordan’s exactly the type of forward player we want; very quick, has excellent technical ability and above all has a very positive mindset,” said Brown, who has been working hard behind the scenes to overhaul a squad that just avoided the drop last season.

“He wants to progress and understands that to do that he needs to work hard and continue to develop his game.

“Jordan can play through the middle or out wide and is another player who gives us attacking options.”

Clitheroe FC holds its AGM next Thursday night (13 June) at Shawbridge when supporters will get the chance to hear of changes on and off the pitch designed to make it a new era for the Blues.
