Comings, goings, and returns

The Blues are finally at Shawbridge again this weekend against Skelmersdale United, after various away journeys in the region. Here's how the squad is shaping up.

A couple of weeks ago Henry Limpitshi-Bongwanga joined us on a dual-registration from FC United. The 21 year old striker was lively in his first start against Trafford and helped with the win away at Widnes.

In the other direction striker Jamie Rainford has left the club to join Ramsbottom United after 4 appearances and 2 goals for us. Jamie leaves with our best wishes to join up with his friend and new Rams manager Chris Wilcock, whom he played under at Glossop.

Other departures include left back Ben Matthews who has joined Chadderton FC, and Obi Anoruo who has joined Winsford, both on dual-registrations. Both players wanted more game-time, and Blues manager Lee Ashforth hopes they can both reach the form he know's they are capable of.

After a month out, Jonah Gosling has returned to the squad after his serious facial injury that he sustained at home against Trafford. And Ryan Steele has re-joined the club after a spell with us during pre-season.

Jay Jeffries is unavailable for selection this weekend, as he's in the middle of his 3 match ban after being sent off at Ossett United.

And to end on good news, fan-favourite Antoine Recizak has signed a contract with the club. Lee Ashforth said "Antoine has been outstanding in recent weeks and he is fully deserving of the deal that will keep him as a Clitheroe player for the foreseeable future."

Lee himself is live on Ribble FM this evening between 6 and 7, so be sure to tune in.

And don't forget its our quiz night on Friday with some spaces still available. £20 for a team of 4 with a pie and pea supper included. And then kick off is at 3:00pm on Saturday. See you there!
