Clitheroe Football Club Youth Team / U21's Applications 2019 -2020

Clitheroe Football Club are now planning to extend the number of teams representing the club and is offering the opportunity for young players aged 16+ to play for this semi professional and well established club.
Applications are invited from young talented and ambitious players who live in the Ribble Valley and surrounding districts and who are keen to move up the football ladder.
Players must be over 15 but not yet 18 on the 31st August 2019 to be eligible for Youth team football. It is expected, but not essential, that applicants will have already played representative football at some level, whether for school, college or a league team . The club is particularly interested in players who have already have a season behind them playing Youth or open aged football and can bring that experience with them.
Players who join at Youth level will not be restricted to that age group but will have the opportunity to step up to U21 team as soon as they are ready. The club will offer an unrestricted age policy and give players the opportunity to play at the highest level available.
It is anticipated that the Youth Team will play in the well establish Lancashire Sunday League Youth section which offers a wide variety of playing opportunity.
Applications are also invited to players who have now reached the end of the Youth Team age group and who are keen to continue playing and who are interested in joining a representative squad who play their football in the Lancashire County U21 League. This league is a development group of teams and clubs who have come together to ensure their young players play in a well organised and competitive environment. Players in this league have to be 16 + but can be over the age of 21 as the league rules allow 3 players in each team to be over this age. This gives clubs the opportunity to play adult players who play or are looking to play first team football the chance of returning from injury or improving fitness etc. It is not unusual for teams to play players 25+ in this league.
If you are interested in playing for either of these groups and would like the opportunity to come along to the club on a trial day then please send an email address and a short description of your playing experience to :- stevenentwistle@btinternet.com
It is anticipated that players will be invited to the Shawbridge ground on Sunday 23rd June 2019 for a short trial period and where they will be able to get to know the staff and ask any questions .
