All of our thoughts are with Terry's family.

The Club was greatly saddened to hear last week of the death of lifelong supporter and club stalwart Terry Nelson.

Terry was one of the final links to the era of great clubmen, including Keith Lord and Colin Wilson.

Terry had been involved with the club since the sixties and was a huge support to chairmen Charlie Murphy and son-in-law Steve Rush in the eighties and nineties, where he was both Treasurer and chief architect of the upgrading of the Shawbridge infrastructure.

With his encyclopaedic knowledge of the club and love for the Blues, even as his health failed he was determined to know how results had gone.

Terry’s funeral will take place on Monday 16th April at 9.40am at Accrington Crematorium,BB5 6HA , with light refreshments after the ceremony in the Clitheroe FC clubhouse, to which everyone is welcome.

Terry’s family have also indicated that should anyone wish to make a donation to mark his passing, these should be made to the Clitheroe FC for their stand appeal c/o Andrew Jackson, 15 Warwick Drive, Clitheroe, BB7 2BG.

The family would like to erect a plaque on the new stand which the club are very much in favour of and there will be a minute’s applause at Saturday’s game against Goole.
