3 new faces joined Asforth's side

Lee Ashforth added 3 new players to his side ahead of last night's win away at Glossop.

With injuries to key men such as club captain Jacob Gregory, Josh Snowden, Max Hazeldine, and Lewis Sugden, and Zehn Mohammed's loan spell ending last weekend, all the new signings went straight into the starting 11.

Stephen Rigby re-joins the Blues after a spell with ex-Clitheroe boss Simon Haworth at Stalybridge Celtic. Rigby played a keep role for the club under Haworth, including the cup run that ended with a final at the Macron.

Striker Jamie Rainford also joins us after beginning the season at Widnes. Rainford started his career at Prescot Cables, before moving to the Marine in 2009 where he made his name as a free-scoring hitman. Spells at Halifax and Chester followed, and his debut last night was against his old club where he finished top scorer with 29 goals in 2015.

Australian born Hyuga Tanner also joins the Blues from Bamber Bridge. The midfielder began his career in the Blackburn and Bolton youth squads, and it only took 2 minutes for him to get his first assist last night, a beautiful in-swinging cross to find Jonah Gosling.

The Blues next game is at home to Trafford this coming Saturday. Kick off 3:00pm.
