On the eve of this weekends clash away at Spennymoor Town, Blues manager Simon Garner has announced two new signings for the club.

"We have today captured the signings of Chris Lynch from FC United and Callum Hendry from Blackburn Rovers FC.

"Centre-back Chris comes to the club on a dual registration as emergency cover for our next few games, a familiar name to Blues fans, Chris is another cousin of our midfielders Jack and David.

"I am delighted to get Chris in as he is a defender with real quality and experience at a higher level of football. He was a major part of the FC United team that won the Evo-Stik premier last season but he has missed the beginning of this season due to injury.

"He is now fully fit and raring to get back playing so this is a great opportunity for him to play competitive games at a good level.

"He will then be ready to return to FC United's starting line up as soon as possible. From our point of view he comes straight into the team as we only have one fit and available centre back.

"Gregg Anderson is available at the weekend. However Danny Brady is suspended, Roberto Bonaminio and Brandon Barski are injured but close to returns and right back Jimmy Heywood and midfielder Ross Dent are away on holiday.

"Callum on the other hand joins us on a work experience from Blackburn Rovers. Callum is a striker who likes to play as a no 10 or on either wing. He has been kindly offered to us by Eric Kinder, with Rovers eager to test Callum as a footballer in the mens game.

"Callum is the son of former Blackburn Rovers Centre-back Colin Hendry and he has his fathers tenacity and will to win which will benefit us.

"Both players will be welcome additions to the squad. With several players unavailable it keeps the team strong going into a tough week with three away games in seven days."
