Blues came from behind twice to gain a point against Prescot Cables, on a rain-soaked evening at Shawbridge.

Once again, boss Simon Garner had to contend with late withdrawals and could only select three substitutes. Goalkeeper Andrew Dawber made his second debut for the Club, after signing earlier in the day from Accrington Stanley, on a two month loan deal.

It was the Blues who started the more positively and took the lead on 6 minutes. David Lynch picked the ball up 40 yards out and he outpaced two Prescot defenders then fired home from the edge of the box.

Prescot levelled in bizarre fashion on 18 minutes. What looked like a cross from Phil Bannister came back off the cross bar and Dawber and Danny Morton collided attempting to clear it. The Assistant referee on the right wing flagged that it had crossed the line.

Prescot took the lead on 26 minutes with another strange goal. The Blues defence collectively stopped as it looked like the ball was going out of play, but a Prescot player kept it in and sent a cross in to an unmarked Jack Phillips to side foot the ball in to the net.

Roberto Bonaminio was unlucky not to score on 33 minutes, when after getting past former Blue Mason Ryan and his shot was well saved by keeper Ciaran Gibson. Blues did manage to level on 42 minutes when the best move of the game saw Zach Clark's inch perfect cross found Danny Wilkins unmarked to volley the ball home.

As the rain got worse, the game became even more scrappy. Prescot were awarded a penalty on 60 minutes after Danny Brady's tackle in the box on Matty West. Rob Doran converted the spot kick and gave Prescot a 3-2 lead.

Blues were level again on 64 minutes when Morton's header came back off the bar and Brady was there to tap it home from three yards out. Blues pressed for a winner and both Clark and Wilkins had good efforts, but the winning goal didn't come and the game ended all square.

Clitheroe team: Andrew Dawber, Danny Morton, Seydou Bamba (Simon Garner 69), Adam Freeland, Danny Brady, Roberto Bonaminio, Danny Wilkins, David Lynch, Neville Nelson (Richard Burns 60), Zach Clark, Liam Hutchinson. Sub not used, Alex Palffy.
