Clitheroe were swept aside in comprehensive fashion by promotion rivals Witton Albion, as the visitors turned on the style. Young debutant Clitheroe keeper Shea Callister had an early finger tip save as he foiled a marauding striker who had beaten the offside trap, but from the resultant corner, there was no home challenge as the ball dropped into the six yard area and Tom Pope forced it home. Witton continued to exploit space down the flanks and doubled their lead on 25 minutes when a scruffy corner to the near post squirmed past the keeper into the net. Clitheroe had chances to reduce the lead but Witton defended astutely. In the second half, Clitheroe striker Jack Massey hit the post on 53 minutes, but minutes later from a defensive mix up, Connor Hughes broke free for Witton and made no mistake. The home side then had a flurry of half chances to finish the game, but to no avail, before Danny Wilkins saw a straight red in injury time for the home side as he was harshly deemed to have denied a goalscoring opportunity.
