Clitheroe 1 Prescot Cables 1
Attendance: 911
With Clitheroe desperate to take three points to keep alive their play off hopes, they started the game in cagey fashion and could have gone behind after 4 minutes when Kyle Sambour sprang the offside trap but finished wastefully. The home side soaked up the pressure and then turned the tables when Sefton Gonzales chested down a deep ball on the edge of the box, before laying Jack Massey through who steadied himself before burying a great finish. Clitheroe had a huge shout for a penalty shortly afterwards, but the biggest goal threat came from a couple of dangerous Prescot free kicks where Francis Smith could not find the killer delivery.
With the stakes so high, Clitheroe progressively started to sit deeper in the second half and after going close on 75 minutes from a near post cross, Prescot deservedly equalised minutes later when a low free kick scudded through the defence and was steered home by Fidel O’Rourke.
