Clitheroe Lads United will be in action again on Thursday evening and every week for a chance to get together and stay well in mind and body.
An hour-long recreational football session takes place on the 3G pitches beside the tennis courts at Roefield Sports Centre in Clitheroe (start 8pm), followed by the opportunity for a social drink and a chat back at Shawbridge – the home of Clitheroe FC.
Clitheroe Lads United is open to men of all ages, who are welcome to turn up on the night and join in.
Clitheroe Football Club launched the project with the help of founder Adam Gardner and a grant from The Trident Community Foundation.
The scheme is designed as a relaxed and informal way to avoid potential social isolation and aid men’s health – mentally and physically – by providing exercise and camaraderie.
