Blackburn Rovers Women can confirm that the Club are to fulfil all home fixtures at the Loom Loft Stadium during the 2025-26 season.

Blackburn Rovers Women can confirm that the Club are to fulfil all home fixtures at the Loom Loft Stadium during the 2025-26 season.

The partnership with Clitheroe Football Club will see Rovers Women groundshare and call the stadium home ahead of the upcoming FA Women’s National League North Division One campaign.

It is not the first time that Rovers have partnered with Clitheroe FC, having previously played at the stadium between 2006-2016.

Rovers will also play Adobe Women’s FA Cup and FA Women’s National League Cup games at the same venue.

The ground, situated just a 10-minute walk from Clitheroe train station, has a capacity for 2,600 spectators, with a covered standing terrace which can house 1,000 supporters, and a main stand with 250 bucket seats is also available to view all the action from.

East Lancashire neighbours Clitheroe, nicknamed the Blues, finished 10th in the Northern Premier League Division One West table in the 2024-25 campaign, under the management of former Accrington Stanley midfielder Sean McConville.

Rovers Women and Clitheroe FC will now embark on a journey together with the announcement of the partnership.

Rovers’ Head of Women’s Football, Nick Birchall, said: “We are delighted to be able to announce a new ground share agreement with Clitheroe FC for the 25/26 season. As we embark on a new chapter for the Blackburn Rovers Women’s Club, the club were keen to ensure that we continue to play as close as possible to the Blackburn area, whilst ensuring we meet the ground criteria for the Women’s National League. The location and facilities at Clitheroe FC will provide a fantastic experience for fans of Women’s football, and the capacity of the ground allows for continued growth of the game in the coming years. I would like to thank the Clitheroe FC committee for their support over the last few weeks, and we look forward to our partnership going from strength to strength. There is no denying that the last few weeks have been an extremely difficult time for the players and the staff at the club, but we can now start to look forward to the 25/26 season with renewed optimism. Women’s season ticket details will be released very soon, and we hope that Women’s football fans from across Blackburn, Ribble Valley and the wider area will get behind the team as we begin a new chapter in the Women’s club’s history.”

Clitheroe FC Chairman, Danny Wilkins, commented: “I am delighted to announce a new ground share agreement with Blackburn Rovers Women’s team for the upcoming season. This partnership marks an exciting chapter for both clubs, fostering closer ties within our local football community and providing a sustainable platform for growth. On behalf of Clitheroe FC, I extend a warm welcome to Blackburn Rovers Women and look forward to a successful season together.”

Season tickets for Rovers Women 2025-26 will also be released in due course on the Club website and our social media platforms.

Everyone at Blackburn Rovers Women would like to thank Clitheroe Football Club for their ongoing support.
