Striker Kieran Feeney checks in at Shawbridge

Blues boss Phil Brown has gone back into the transfer market to land striker Kieran Feeney.

And there could be more movement to come as Brown looks to get his side back in forward gear.

Feeney arrives at Shawbridge from BetVictory top-flight outfit Lancaster City.

And after training with his new team-mates for the first time on Tuesday night, the 19-year-old is set to be involved in Saturday’s home game against Dunston.

“We’ve been watching him and he’s looked good,” said Brown.

“He also looked good in training and hopefully he goes on and does well for us.”

Blackburn-born Feeney ends a near four-month stay at Lancaster following a brief spell at Atherton Collieries at the start of the season.

And after starting his career in the Academy set-ups at Burnley, Wolves and Barnsley, the young frontman will be looking to get firing again with the Blues.

Clitheroe need a lift after failing to win since New Year’s Day.

But Brown believes his squad remains on the right track after building virtually from scratch in the summer.

He is doing everything possible to stop a promising season from fading away with the signing of Feeney following last week’s work-experience ‘loan’ captures of Preston North End pair Lincoln McFayden and Tyrhys Dolan, who scored on his debut in Saturday’s 4-1 defeat at North-West leaders Workington Town.

And further incoming activity is also expected before the league’s transfer deadline later this month.
