The planning for the anticipated capacity crowd on Easter Monday has continued apace. We are very much looking forward to staging another excellent spectacle at our Loom Loft Stadium. We expect a very significant contingent of Bury supporters to be at the game and the following will be helpful to ensure that they make the most of the day.
Clitheroe’s ground is on the edge of the town centre. It is four minutes’ walk away from the main town centre car park, six minutes’ walk from the bus/train station and with 20 watering holes within a similar radius. In short, wherever you park in the town centre, you are never far from the ground.
There are three exits off the A59 after coming down the A56 and going through Read into Clitheroe.
The game itself is all ticket with absolutely no sales on the day. Gates and all four bars will open for fans from 12pm onwards. Fans are encouraged to arrive well before kick off. After kick off and once gates are closed, no gates will re-open until 5 minutes before full time. Any fans leaving at half time will not be able to return. The game is not segregated. Historically the main body of Clitheroe supporters congregate around the middle section of the Top Side. They do not traditionally stand behind the goals.
The club has four bars on the ground, including a beer garden and external bar near the main clubhouse. Some pies will be available from the beer garden bar. The main food outlet and another external bar are on the changing room/main stand side. The main male and female toilet blocks are also on this side. In addition, 4 Portaloos will be positioned in each of two opposite corners of the ground. There are no particular restrictions on the ground, although the walkways in front of the main stand, changing rooms and in front of the diner/bar will be kept clear at all times.
Finally, we have worked with our regular security providers and our own volunteer stewards to ensure that everyone can enjoy the game in safety. We simply ask that you respect them, not least as they are looking to make the day run smoothly.
To sum up, have a cracking day. It should be a great Lancashire occasion!
