Clitheroe F.C are delighted to announce our third signing of the summer with the ambitious capture of experienced, cultured midfielder, Scott Sephton. Scott (32 6ft+) is a highly regarded and vastly experienced midfielder who has played for a number of Premier Division clubs such as Warrington, Stalybridge Celtic & Atherton Collieries.

As well as playing at a high level throughout his career, Scott has also been a leader on the pitch for his previous teams & has captained many games throughout his career. He can play in array of positions when required, including in a defensive role, which will give David Dempsey more options as the season progresses.

We stopped to chat with David and got his thoughts on a big signing for the Blues.

"He is a player that can play in a multitude of positions, comfortable centre half, comfortable central midfielder, vastly experienced and a very good footballer. It is all about improving on what has left the club, Scott will add so much more flexibility in terms of how we can use him, he is not tied to one position."

"He is very good on the ball, he is physical, he communicates very well. I have known him for quite a while and have tried to land him a few times at previous clubs, but he has always been playing a lot higher, I previously have not had the facilities nor opportunity to offer him a deal that would tempt him that he would take. As with Ethan & Domaine (new signings) he is a player who I got in touch with straight away this pre-season to see if he will come in. I'm very excited to bring him in to the club, he's a really good lad as well, so in terms of gelling with the group he'll do just that."
