KERSHAW IS A BLUE

KERSHAW IS A BLUE

Christian Winstanley15 Jun 2023 - 10:03

DEMPSEY - "I've liked him for a long time. I tried to get him last year when he was leaving Atherton"

Ethan Kershaw is a blue, as Clitheroe F.C complete their second signing of the summer. Ethan has a rich pedigree being a part of the Youth System at Burnley F.C from the age of 8 up until the age of 18. Kershaw, who is now 22, has impressed at previous clubs Atherton Collieries & last season at Stalybridge Celtic.

Ethan is a versatile, high energy, ball playing midfielder that will leave everything on the pitch and a player that will no doubt be endeared by the Shawbridge faithful. We caught up with Ethan who wanted to share a few words with the fans.

"I like to get on the ball, one & two touch quick passing, but I'm a 'ratter' I like to press, I like to work hard, I'd run through a brick wall & the main thing for me is winning. That's the most important and obviously for this team, just win every game possible."

We asked what Ethan's aims are this season for himself & the team.

"The aim, not just for myself, but the staff and the whole team should be promotion, that's on our minds, all we want to do is go up, whether that's through the playoffs, but preferably we want to be at the top, we want to be a dominant side. The aim definitely is to go up"

We sat down with David Dempsey, as he shared his thoughts after finally capturing the signature of Ethan Kershaw.

"Ethan is going to offer a lot on the pitch in central areas, he's a really talented footballer, very technical from what we have seen of him. I've liked him for a long time, we played against Atherton Colls in the summer last year when I was at Widnes, he stood out in that game & he is a player I have kept my eye on"

"I tried to get him last year when he was leaving Atherton, but decided to move on to Stalybridge, which I was frustrated at the time because I thought I'd had him. Ethan was one of the first players I contacted during this close season, he'll be good for us"

"He's got an engine, very technical, gets on the ball, likes to play, likes to create things & will chip in with the odd goal here & there, he'll just give us real composure when on the football, which is something we lacked at times last season."
