The deadlock was broken in the 11th minute by Scott Bakkor, Louis Mayers played a brilliant cross field ball to Bakkor, who from a tight angle finished excellently for his 11th goal of the season.
Clitheroe had more chances in the first half with defender Daniel Brady dominant on corners and winning two headers but couldn't direct them on goal. Whilst Harrogate midfielder Stockdill was in the thick of it for the visitors in the first half with a couple of long ranged shots and receiving a yellow card for a late challenge on midfielder ross dent.
Clitheroe faithful were in demonstration as Scott Harries was downed on the edge of the box moments before the half time whistle, referee Bartlett was unmoved.
The game opened up in the second half as harrogate were searching for a equaliser, but it was Clitheroe who gave themselves a real chance to put the game to bed in the 57th minute when Harries was taken down by Alex Lowe, given his second yellow card after the foul Lowe was sent walking.
Though Simon Garner’s side couldn’t take advantage, Bakkor striking the crossbar.
Harrogate almost made Clitheroe pay for that penalty miss when Hunter delivered a dangerous free-kick which was just missed by the on rushing Barrett.
Sefton Gonzales then had a big chance to give The Blues some breathing room after he ran onto goalkeeper Ben Woodhead’s long ball. Lifting the ball over Harrogate keeper Goodwin Gonzales watched his shot drift just wide.
Though the centre forward was to have his moment when in the 67th minute he ran on to a James Heywood through ball and Gonzales easily rounded the keeper and slotted home for his first goal of the season.
Clitheroe missed a number of second half chances including a one on one chance which Gonzales put just wide. Gonzales was determined to get another goal as he headed in a cross in the 90th minute.

The results give gives Clitheroe their third win in a row and allowed them to maintain third position of the Evo-stik First Division North, whilst visiting Harrogate Railway Athletic remain second form bottom, still searching for their first win of the season.
