Clitheroe 3 Glossop North End 2
Attendance 563
Two superbly struck goals from Max Cane were enough to win the game for Clitheroe, in a closely fought game. There were few chances in the first half, the best being a shot for Glossop which came back of the post on 39 minutes.
The game sprung to life after the break when Clitheroe took the lead on 57 minutes. Sam Lloyd on his first team debut, sent a low cross in to the box which Sefton Gonzales converted after the ball had been pushed away by Louis Hood in the Glossop goal.
Glossop levelled on 69 minutes. Clitheroe keeper Chris Thompson's attempted clearance was intercepted by Jacques Etia, who had a simple task of tapping the ball into an empty net. Cane made it 2-1 on 75 minutes, when he ran on to a long ball to strike the ball across the keeper into the corner of the net.
On 79 minutes, Cane scored his second to make it 3-1 with an unstoppable shot which gave Hood no chance. Glossop pulled the score back to 3-2 on 88 minutes when Etia scored his second, but it was not enough to stop the home team clinching the points.
