The Blues won their fourth game in a row tonight with a thumping 6-1 victory away at Radcliffe Borough.

By Andy Hammond

The Blues dominated the match from start to finish and continue to make progress towards the Play-off places.

Sefton Gonzales opened the scoring after 10 minutes, when he dribbled past a couple of defenders in the box to place the ball past Chris Cheetham in the Radcliffe goal, via the bottom of the post.

Chances fell at regular intervals during the first half with Louis Mayers, Scott Harries and Brandon Barski all coming close to extending the Blues lead.

The second goal duly arrived on 39 minutes, when Scott Harries finished confidently after being sent clear by a through ball from Gonzales.

An action packed last couple of minutes of the half started when Louis Mayers delightful chip came back off the post. Within seconds, Radcliffe were down to 10 men when striker Steve Foster was sent off for a two footed challenge. On the stroke of half time, Brandon Barski was sent clear on the left and he made no mistake with a low shot in to the bottom corner of the net.

Kurt Willoughby replaced Simon Garner at the start of the second half.

The Blues started as they left off and had added another two goals in the first ten minutes of the second half.

Sefton Goinzales scored his second of the night when he rose to head home at the far post from Harries cross. Within a minute it was 5-0 when Danny Brady headed home from close range.

Louis Mayers had two more excellent chances, the second with a ferocious volley on 69 minutes which may have burst the net if it hadn't hit Kurt Willoughby on the head. Thankfully Kurt was unscathed.

Scott Bakkor replaced Brandon Barski and Michael Hampson came on for Scott Harries.

The Blues continued to look for more goals and the sixth arrived on 80 minutes when Hampson was sent clear from David Lynch's through ball and he finished confidently.

On 83 minutes, Radcliffe pulled backed a consolation through Richard Smith but the Blues played the game out for another outstanding victory.

Our next game is on Saturday away at Trafford.
