On an overcast but pleasant day it was the away team Tadcaster Albion, on just six minutes, caught Clitheroe napping with a through ball that Carl Stewart hammered home giving the Clitheroe keeper not a chance of stopping. Clitheroe stepped up the attacks and Dimitri Tuanzebe levelled the score to 1-1 in the 13th minute.
We had to wait only six more minutes for Clitheroe to go ahead in the game when Daniel Brady on 19 minutes slotted home. Tadcaster had a good chance on 22 minutes only to see a brilliant save from Clitheroe keeper Chris Thompson keep Clitheroe ahead.
Almost a third goal, on 29 minutes, for Clitheroe when Carroll and Tuanzebe both had shots blocked. Kurt Willoughby went very close on 44 minutes. So at half time Clitheroe lead 2-1.
The second half started well with Clitheroe pilling on the pressure. Brad Carroll and Alex Newby all going close. Tadcaster came more into the game and had a series of good chances but Chris Thompson in goal kept them at bay.
First and only sub for Clitheroe was Tom Williams for Kurt Willoughby around the 77th minute. In the 86 minute Williams broke free of his markers and was very unlucky not to bury his chance.
Tadcaster push up get the equaliser but let Clitheroe break on the counter and Tuanzebe scored late in injury time.
