Newcastle Town v Clitheroe FC | Northern Premier League - West | 7:45pm KO, October 14th 2026 | Match Attendance: 184

Clitheroe eased to a 2-0 win away at Newcastle Town, with two well-taken goals from Rhami and Touray just before half time being the decider in a game where the Blues were in control for nearly the entirety.

Touray had the first chance of the game, driving towards goal before shooting from the edge of the box, though his effort went wide. They weren't to be kept out for much longer though, as Clitheroe took the lead soon after. Touray drove towards the box and laid the ball off to Rhami, who put Clitheroe in front, touching it out from his feet before finishing calmly through the goalkeeper's legs. Touray was in again not long after, this time completely alone with just the goalkeeper to beat, but the covering defender got back just in time to block the shot and send it wide.

Harrison then did incredibly well to fight back and win possession high up the pitch, managing to get a cross into the box, but Touray couldn't quite get there in time and it was cleared. Walder was shown a yellow card for a clumsy foul, however luckily the resulting free kick lead to nothing. It was a very end-to-end game at this point, with Newcastle Town having a few chances of their own, though nothing to really worry Isherwood, while Clitheroe hadn't created a great deal since their opener, despite mostly dominating possession.

Newton took it upon himself to drive forward, getting into a shooting position, but his effort narrowly dragged wide of the target. Clitheroe did find a second goal before the half time, with Rhami producing an excellent ball that found the feet of Touray. He took it in his stride and smashed the ball home in additional time to double Clitheroe's lead heading into the break.

Half Time: Newcastle Town 0-2 Clitheroe FC

Clitheroe had a penalty shout just a minute into the second half, with Scarborough sandwiched between two defenders and brought down in the box, but the referee waved away all appeals. Clitheroe made a change soon after, with Alston making way for Shorrocks, looking to even further improve their control in midfield. Despite not creating a great deal in the early stages of the second half, Clitheroe remained in full control of the game, not allowing Newcastle Town to have any real possession or get out of their own half. Newcastle Town made a substitution, with Oliver Ritchie replacing Joseph Hunter, before making a further double change, bringing on Calvin Smith and Harrison Hulme for Joel Jones and Ashley Sangarwe.

Clitheroe appeared to get a little relaxed as the second half wore on, not really creating anything important despite keeping hold of the ball for almost the entirety of the half and barely allowing Newcastle Town a touch of it. Clitheroe made a change, ending an emphatic individual display, with Touray brought off for Jordan Carroll having done his job for the afternoon. Newcastle Town made a further substitution with Karsten Cairns replaced by Will Arnold, looking for a way back into this game late on, however at this point it didn't look likely. Clitheroe looked to see out the result with a final change, bringing on Carter in place of Rhami, just ensuring they solidified the result and kept all three points. They did in fact do that, with the referee blowing the whistle for full time not long after, giving Clitheroe yet another win away from home.

A comfortable away win for Clitheroe in the end, with Touray and Rhami's goals proving more than enough, even as the performance dipped, giving Clitheroe a important three points in their push for promotion.
