It was unfortunately another game to forget for Clitheroe who slump to a fifth straight league defeat and losses to the bottom two sides in three days.
Clitheroe got off to the better start of the two sides playing the high pressure football that they are capable of.
It was close to being 1-0 as well when Jacob Gregory bombed down the right wing and put the ball on a plate for George Hughes who could not find the finish.
The game was limited with its chance after this but it was still Clitheroe doing the pressing.
However it only took one chance for Brighouse and after Chris Thompson came up with an incredible save to deny, the rebound was put in by Adam Field. Half-time: Brighouse 1-0 Blues.
It was the familiar scenario of a poor start to the second half and Clitheroe just could not get going.
The Blues are a team that are really lacking creativity going forward and it's costing vital points.
Kurt Willoughby last night made the EvoStik Northern Division One team of the season but this is not a one man team and without the service, the league's second top scorer is limited.
The rest of the second half was fairly comfortable for Brighouse who simply sat back and let Clitheroe do all the running.
It was game over in the 79th minute after a simple breakaway made it easy for Brighouse to tap in a second.
In the final minutes there was pressure from Clitheroe but it was no more than they had offered all game. Full time: Brighouse 2-0 Blues.
