Clitheroe 1-2 Prescot Cables 07-09-19
Clitheroe and Prescot played out their second league game in two weeks and it was the visitors who took the honours in a close contest.
Clitheroe had the bulk of possession in the first half and on 17 minutes, Owen Watkinson has his firm shot saved. Three minutes later, Watkinson was kicked in the head in the penalty area, and Connor Gaul converted the spot kick. Terry Cummings was a handful on both flanks, but a mix up on 44 minutes, saw Clitheroe old boy, Lloyd Dean, nip in between defender and keeper and draw the scores level.
Clitheroe started the second half brightly and Watkinson went close again. However, on 75 minutes Craig Stanley fouled a Prescot attacker in the box and James Edgar converted. When the final whistle was blown, Prescot had the win and Stanley received a straight red for something he said to the referee.
