FA Cup 3rd round qualifier replay
Bury 2 Clitheroe 0
Attendance 1.147
Early chance for Bury as Gilboy drills the ball toward the goal to the feet of Connor Comber but his shot is smothered on the line. Free kick for the Clitheroe about 30 yards out, it's delivered but Jack Atkinson watches it sail high over his crossbar. A really good start from both sides! Only one distinct chance and it came from a Richie Baker free kick that went just over.
A great cross from Burrows after a great run along the right, unfortunately intercepted before it reaches Gonzales. Would have been a great goal. A brilliant chance. Goal mouth scramble is eventually cleared much to the delight of CFC fans. Rowney with a high looping cross that looks like it’s not causing any problems drops at the near post, the Clitheroe keeper scrambles. An array of Clitheroe corners and throw ins a lot of pressure for Bury.
Cameron pulled Wharton's shirt. Booked too. Ref gives penalty. Goal from the spot.
We are back underway! Big half to come.
Poor Clitheroe defending and Jimmy Moore crossed the ball from just inside the Clitheroe half and Wharton nodded it across for Lewis to smash home! 2-0. Blues fighting back! Still life in this game. Clitheroe doing their best to pen Bury in their own half and are coming at us with a lot of pressure. 4 corners in 2 minutes but the Thompson manages to dive on top of it. Clitheroe substitution Sefton Gonzales and Ross Dent Reece Webb-Foster and Callum Leigh.
Full time and Bury AFC run out the winners 2-0.
