Sefton Gonzales has requested the termination of his contract at the EcoGiants Stadium.

Clitheroe Football Club did trigger a one year extension to his contract following the conclusion of the 23/24 season, but upon Sefton's request, the club have agreed to the termination out of respect for the great service Sefton has given the club and taking into consideration the player's age.

Despite another excellent season from the No. 9 Talisman, Sefton felt a new beginning and opportunity is his preferred option as the 32 year old looks to continue his career to pastures new.

Clitheroe Football Club would like to put on record our sincere thanks to Sefton for his outstanding contribution to this football club. Having scored 98 goals in 203 appearances for the Blues, he has been a dominating force in attack and a player that is loved by many fans. We wish him all the best for the future and he will always be welcomed back to Shawbridge.
